I have one place where I am most comfortable. This place provides entertainment, news, work, peace, and quiet. I spend much time in this place.
My refuge from the people of the world is my desk. I spend much of my free time in my giant, Italian leather office chair sitting at the L-shaped desk in the corner. I come to this place whenever I am home. The chair is a very quiet and peaceful place to be. I can sit back with my feet propped up on the antique footstool and ignore then world.
I have all of the things I enjoy at my fingertips from the chair. I have television, internet news, and many other sources of to keep me informed of the day's events. I am at peace in this environment; I am surrounded by the things I enjoy. It is quiet here.
I spend most of my free time at the chair by my desk. I am in the chair for hours, in the evening, searching the Internet for interesting subjects. Many ideas are born and die while I sit in that chair. I enjoy my time in the chair by my desk.
I have all of my interests near the chair by my desk. My Ham Radio station is to the right, my computers are in front, my reference books are behind, and the television is above. I have all of my interests near the chair by my desk.
I have but one place where I am comfortable. My Italian leather chair by the L-shaped desk in the corner of my room. I have all the world at my fingertips. The world is as far away as I wish.
I wrote that sometime in 1997 for a creative writing course in college. Take it as you will. I found it crumpled, lying in a pile of trash and thought it would be nice to keep.
